    The Hoover City Council on Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, discusses a resolution seeking approval from the state Legislature to hold an election to raise Hoover's property taxes by 2.4 mills. Such an increase would add $24 to the tax bill for a $100,000 home and $72 to the tax bill for a $300,000 home.
