September is National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and local organization Hope for Autumn Foundation is teaming up with the Laura Crandall Brown Foundation for the “Make a Stand” campaign to creatively support the cause. Read more

The Hoover-Metro Kiwanis Club presented a $1,250 check to the Hope for Autumn Foundation to help fight childhood cancer during its Friday, Aug. 21 breakfast meeting. Read more


Hope for Autumn

In 2006, a group of friends gathered for a backyard crawfish boil in Ross Bridge. Local resident Travis Diggs organized the event to raise money for his best friend’s daughter, Autumn, who was battling cancer. Read more


Proceeds from the event benefit the families of local pediatric cancer patients, as well as the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorder’s Developmental Therapeutics Program. Read more
