Mary Katherine Tedder is going to have to build a trophy case. The Spain Park junior shortstop added another honor to an already extensive list for her performance this past spring.
Tedder was named on Thursday to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American team, landing on the second team.
A University of Texas commit, she set a school record with 20 home runs on the season and batted for a .457 average, with 74 hits, five triples, 74 RBIs and 31 walks, all tops on the Lady Jags.
Her head coach C.J. Hawkins credited her success to "relentless hard work and commitment to her craft."
The NFCA All-American team was selected from the group of student-athletes who made the first team in their respective region on the All-Region teams.
Tedder and teammate Kynadi Tipler each made the first team. Hoover's Jamie Gregg was named to the second team.
