Spain Park Football 2014
Wade Streeter dashes into the end zone for a Spain Park touchdown to close the gap to 64-63 in the fourth overtime against Hewitt-Trussville. But a missed extra-point attempt left the Jags one point shy.
The Hoover High Buccaneers are off this week after beating Thompson 56-6 last Friday night. The Bucs (2-2, 2-0 Region 3) were ranked second in Class 7A last week and may move up to the top spot in the polls again when they are released Tuesday night. No. 1 Bob Jones was upset by Gadsden City last week. In the meantime, the Bucs will be prepping for their first meeting with Spain Park since 2011, which will be Thursday, Oct. 2, at Jaguar Field. Kickoff for that game will be 7 p.m. BRC 6.2 will air the game as part of Raycom's Thursday night series.
Spain Park's Jaguars (3-2, 1-2 Region 3) were ranked in the Class 7A polls but will likely fall out after their second straight loss, this one a 64-63 four-overtime heartbreaker to Hewitt-Trussville. The Jags will regroup as they host Hoover next Thursday at 7 p.m.
