Running back Otis Harris dominated the second half of the game, as Spain Park pulled off a 23-14 win over Austin High School of Decatur.
The Jaguars trailed 14-10 in the 3rd quarter until Harris, who totaled 139 yards rushing for the game, scored on touchdown runs of 41 and 46 yards.
Harris also soared past the Austin defense in the air, leading Spain Park with six catches for 49 yards.
The Spain Park defense also began the 2013 season with a strong performance, intercepting three Austin passes, and holding the Black Bears scoreless in a pivotal fourth quarter. Drew Moore led the Jags’ defense with 10 tackles.
