Hoover Football
Fans can listen to Hoover football on the radio all season long.
Fans all across central Alabama can catch the Hoover High School football team in action this fall.
Hoover has entered into an agreement to have all of its football games in the 2016 season broadcast live on 93.7 WDJC radio.
"We wanted to provide our fans another way to follow the games," said Andy Urban, Hoover's athletic director.
Each Friday night, there will be a pregame show beginning at 6:30 p.m., with kick off slated for 7 p.m.
"At WDJC, our message is to spread the word of Jesus and our Christian faith every day," said Tim Holden, WDJC sales manager. "We strive to connect to our community every day. To put Hoover football on the airwaves, we hope to connect people, provide entertainment, and expose great Christian radio to football fans throughout our state."
Urban reached out to Chris Mileski, co-host of WDJC's morning show, "Roxanne & Chris," and the two sides reached an agreement to broadcast the games.
Jeff Lloyd will handle play-by-play duties, with Nick Smith providing color commentary. Rookie Gage will be the spotter, and David Moses the statistician.
Hoover travels to Montgomery and Allen, Texas, in the first two weeks, respectively, and the radio team will be on site for both games.
Students in the broadcast academy will still aid in the live video broadcast, available at bucsbroadcasting.com through the NFHS Network. Video broadcasts will begin Sept. 2, when Mountain Brook visits Hoover.
