Rita Barksdale joined the Hoover High School administrative staff this semester as the school’s newest assistant principal. Barksdale comes to HHS from Plainview High School in Rainsville, Alabama, where she served in a number of capacities including administration and athletics.
“Barksdale brings a wealth of experience to our school. As a K-12 principal, she is well versed in all areas of school administration. She will be a tremendous asset to our team,” HHHS Principal Don Hulin said.
“My duties at Hoover High School will vary this semester. I will be learning the system and helping in all areas,” Barksdale said. “I am very excited about working in a large school and also being in a 9-12 environment. HHS is a great school and I am very honored to be a part of the team. “
Barksdale’s former school was a K-12 school with a total enrollment of 1140 students. She says she is excited about the challenge of a large school with many different learning opportunities.
