0413 Mayor's Prayer Breakfast
Pictured at last year’s Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast are David Luke, Colette Scott, Lynda Wasden, Carolyn Ivey, Mayor Ivey, Anna Laura Bryan, Joann Powell, Pat Lawley, Jennifer Gregory and Judy Thompson.
The 31st annual Hoover Mayor's Prayer Breakfast will be held on May 7 at the Wynfrey Hotel.
“The Beautification Board looks forward to planning and hosting this event each year,” said Beautification Board member Mary Ross Searcy. “It is a wonderful time for elected officials, religious and business leaders and residents of Hoover to come together to hear a faith-based message.”
This year’s speaker will be former Berry High School, Auburn University and Miami Dolphins football player Mike Kolen, now a financial planner and resident of Vestavia Hills. Kolen, a linebacker, won two Super Bowls with the Dolphins after being selected in the 12th round of the 1970 NFL.
Doors will open at 7 a.m., and the program begins at 7:30 a.m. Tickets are $20 per person or $200 for a table of ten.
“This event brings together city leaders, businesses and citizens,” said Mayor Gary Ivey. “This is always a very special day in Hoover.”
