A robbery was reported at the Union State Bank at 3437 Lorna Road. The robbery occurred Thursday, Sept. 10 around 12:34 p.m.
Hoover Police Department Public Information Officer Capt. Gregg Rector said the suspect is a white male who was wearing a black wig and baseball cap. The suspect gave a note to the teller demanding cash. He left with an unknown amount of cash and fled on foot in the direction of Costa’s Mediterranean Café, Rector said.
On Sept. 1, a white male suspect in a wig robbed the BBVA Compass bank in Homewood. Rector said detectives are investigating possible connections between bank robberies in the area.
“There’s been a couple of robberies in Birmingham in the last few days, and detectives are looking into if this robbery was connected to others,” Rector said.
