The Hoover alumnae chapter of the Kappa Delta sorority is sponsoring a concert series on Saturday at the Bessemer Airport to benefit an organization seeking a cure for childhood auto-inflammatory diseases.
The Hangin’ at the Hangar concerts will be at The Hangar Bar & Grill at the airport and will run from 3 to 9 p.m.
Hoover’s own Bailey Ingle is the headliner, and others putting on concerts include Livewire, Conner Patrick, and The Daze.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the event, but children ages 12 and younger can attend free. A ticket includes admission, music and a barbecue plate. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at an additional charge.
Organizers encourage people to bring blankets and lawn chairs. The concerts will happen rain or shine, and there will be no refunds.
All proceeds will benefit a national organization called StopCAIDNow. The sorority chapter chose this charity because one of their members, Teresa Ingle, has a daughter, Marleigh, who suffers from one of those auto-inflammatory diseases.
Marleigh, who is Bailey Ingle’s sister, has a rare bone disease called chronic recurrent osteomyelitis, which causes painful inflammation in her bones.
In addition to the music, the Hangin’ at the Hangar event will feature craft and jewelry vendors.
