Highway 150 at Galleria Boulevard
The realignment of Highway 150 at Galleria Boulevard was approved by the Hoover City Council.
The community of Hoover should plan for possible traffic delays in the future as the Alabama Department of Transportation begins roadwork on a stretch of about three miles along Highway 150.
The project, which is taking place along Highway 150 from the intersection of I-459 to U.S. Highway 31, will consist of asphalt patching, asphalt planing, resurfacing and striping.
“We’re still on the patching part right now, and I believe they should finish that up this week,” said Linda Crockett of ALDOT. “They have not done any of the other work, but they should start on the others next week.”
Keeping in mind that there is football season traffic, ALDOT has not scheduled any construction on the weekends.
“We’re only doing the work Sunday through Thursday to work around the football games,” Crockett said. Roadwork will take place at night from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
While there are no schedule road closures or detours, ALDOT advises motorists to consider using alternate routes and adjust arrival and departure times for all traffic. All drivers should proceed cautiously through work zones and obey all signs and speed limits.
Construction along 150 is planned to be finished by the end of this fall, weather permitting.
“It’s going to be a little while,” said Crockett.
