2014 Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony was held at Hoover City Hall on Monday, Dec. 1 at 5 p.m. South Shades Crest Elementary School fourth-grader James DeLano lit the Christmas tree and the South Shades Crest Elementary School third grade choir gave a special performance.
"Our city was recently named one of the top 30 cities to live in in the country," said Mayor Gary Ivey during the event. "Tonight is a night to celebrate our community."
Following the tree lighting, Santa Claus arrived via fire truck and took pictures with children in Santa's Workshop. Click through the photo slideshow above to see pictures from the night's events.
