A gas leak in Bluff Park has been stopped, and residents of five homes, which were evacuated, have been able to return. While the leak has stopped, the line will still need to be repaired before service is restored.
Hoover Fire Department Executive Officer Rusty Lowe said the line was on 200 Cambo Terrace. Authorities have evacuated one home on that street and four homes on Avanti Lane, he said. Service is expected to be restored by Saturday morning.
After homes were evacuated, Alagasco and Hoover Fire Department crews were on the scene.
