Bluff Park UMC is hosting a forum on human trafficking and domestic violence.
The women’s ministry at Bluff Park United Methodist Church is hosting a forum on human trafficking and domestic abuse on Monday, Aug. 10.
Birmingham Deputy Police Chief Henry Irby, Hoover police Sgt. Nina Monosky and Hoover police detective Ryan Smith are listed as guest speakers for the forum. Irby is involved in a human trafficking work group, and Monosky and Smith work with the Hoover police family services unit.
The forum will address the growing issue of human trafficking and domestic abuse, according to its event page, and discuss potential steps toward change.
It is a free event and open to the public. The event will begin with refreshments at 6:30 p.m., and the program starts at 7 p.m. It will be held in the church’s Chapel at 733 Valley Street. For more information, call 822-0910 or visit the event’s Facebook page.
