The new stoplight at the intersection of Lake Crest Drive and Preserve Parkway.
A new traffic signal at the intersection of Preserve Parkway and Lake Crest Drive became operational Tuesday, a city official said.
The lights were installed within the past 1 1/2 weeks and are now working, said Tim Westhoven, the city of Hoover's assistant executive director.
There is substantial traffic at that intersection during peak driving hours, so city officials took traffic counts and determined a signal was warranted, he said. The signal cost about $90,000, he said.
