Shelby Humane Society Paws for the Cause 5k is October 8th – Register by September 15th for Price Discounts

Lace up your running shows and bring the dogs out for Shelby Humane Society’s Paws for the Cause 5k & 1 Mile Fun Run/Dog Walk. Paws for the Cause will be held at Veterans Park on Valleydale Road in Hoover on October 8, 2016 beginning at 8:30am.

Paws for the Cause is a certified 5k off-road cross-country race through the park around the lake and through tree-lined trails surrounding the park. Runners and walkers of all speeds and ages are welcome, as well as dogs on a leash.

The Fun Run and 1 Mile Dog Walk allows children to explore the park and you to show off your dogs while they are getting some exercise too! All dogs that participate will receive a special prize.

Early registration prior to September 15th will be $30 for the 5k, $20 for the 1 mile or $35 for both and includes a technical running shirt and chance to win a gift certificate from Pampered Pet Resort. After September 16th registration will be $35 for the 5k, $25 for the 1 mile or $40 for both. For those that want to support and receive a t-shirt but not participate, a sleep-in option is available for $25. Registration can be done online at runsignup.com.

All proceeds go to the Shelby Humane Society to help with the care of the over 5,000 lost, homeless and unwanted pets the shelter cares for every year.
