Precision Chiropractic is hosting a family fun day to help raise money for Down Syndrome Alabama. The event is Aug. 1 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., and families are invited to come out and celebrate the last few weeks of summer.
Attendees can enjoy music from a live DJ, bouncy houses, games and good food. The event is free, and there will be food from Tony’s Hot Dogs, Kona Ice and Frios Gourmet Pops. The day also includes a raffle, including hotel stays at the Holiday Inn Express in Pelham, concert tickets, family passes to the McWane Science Center, dinner for two at restaurant to be announced and an iPad Mini. All money that is raised goes to Down Syndrome Alabama.
“It’s actually just a way to give back to our community and also to raise awareness about Down Syndrome, so we wanted it to be free for the community and also for families to be able to do something together,” said Lindsey Lovvorn, who is helping coordinate the event.
Alabama Rentals, which is located across the street from Precision Chiropractic, is co-sponsoring the event. It is providing bouncy houses and games as well as grilling all of the hot dogs for the event. Other sponsors include Dan Carlisle’s AllState, Tony’s Hot Dogs, Wise Potato Chips and N House Media.
This is the event’s first year, but Lovvorn said Precision Chiropractic hopes to make it an annual end of summer event.
