Plans to control growing crime?

I would like to know what officials have planned to help control the amount of growing crime in this area. Anyone seen or read any news regarding crime control?

Glad I'm Moving FAR FAR AWAY!!!

This city literally cares nothing about its residents. If I wanted more traffic jams than this crap city already had I would move to New York, but I don't and you fools are being played by large corporations. Literally cutting down 44 acres of forest to build stores that we already have down the road. This is the Jefferson County sewer system all over again you inbred Alabamians are being played by Wall Street and will payout of your noses with high tax rates for them to construct roads that will relieve all this traffic.

Sam House more than 1 year ago

Wow

I am glad you will be leaving our city. We really don't want you here if your opinion of us is "inbred", and "fools".

Put Up or Shut Up

All of you mouthy people with your "demands" and "wants" are spitting into the wind. If YOU don't own it...YOU don't control it. Just because you're a resident doesn't give you the right to tell someone else what they can and can't do with their money. Don't like it...don't shop it. Don't like the current leadership...vote them out. Get a clue people. You'd be all up in arms if your neighbors got together to tell you what to do on your property or how your children should act. What makes you so special that you think you can waltz in and tell some developer what they can/should do when you wouldn't allow it to happen to you?

Stop Building!!

We have to stop allowing our corrupt Hoover Officials to screw everyone over like this! All they want is money. No regard for traffic, debt, space, the environment, its just a big mess.

Elliot more than 1 year ago

I disagree with you!

There is nothing corrupt about our Hoover officials! While I disagree with them for approving yet another shopping center we don't need, I have confidence in their leadership. So they blew it on this one; that doesn't make them corrupt in this or another other matter. You owe our Mayor and Council an apology.

How About...

Would love to see a Carraba's in this space. Maybe a good BBQ place too.

Walter more than 1 year ago

Seriously

Oh, goodie! Even more traffic to add to the mess on 150 and at the intersection with 459. What is wrong with using the empty spaces in the Grove Shopping Center or buying the shopping center on Princeton Way that has been sitting empty for years? Stop mowing down our trees, and adding to the already congested traffic! The one thing that Hoover does NOT need is another shopping center!

Cathy Storey more than 1 year ago

Empty spaces everywhere

Yay, another shopping center. Yay, more traffic at that already congested intersection. While I appreciate Mr. Kadish's enthusiasm for his new project, apparently he doesn't drive that area during rush hour and school hours or when there are events at the Met.

I will never understand why new shopping centers have to be built when we have so many empty spaces in the shopping centers we already have! Patton Creek, The Grove and other centers have nice, vacant storefronts in need of tenants. I would love to see those filled before building new centers. The building that housed Earth Fare is vacant and would be a good location for an organic grocer. But no, build a new building instead of using a perfectly good vacant one!

Meredith more than 1 year ago

Empty Spaces

Many of the spaces around the Galleria are vacant because the rent prices are crazy there. A small retailer cannot sell enough products to cover their overhead! The Hoover zoning board are seeing the sales tax revenue is all they are seeing. The current road structure cannot handle it.

Hoover Officials are gold diggers

But this shouldn't be new news to anyone familiar with the people running this city.

Paul more than 1 year ago

Some ideas

The medical center will be Hoover UAB Primary Care. It is moving from the
Back of that building by Express Oil Change on 150. They need more space!! The grocery will be the 2nd store for Organic Harvest.

Beth Laughlin more than 1 year ago

Organic Harvest

I thought Organic Harvest was going in the retail section down by intersection of Brocks Gap Pkwy and Stadium Trace near the pediatric dentist building.

Would love to see Uno restaurant. Excellent pizza and salads. Not one here in Bham.

REI

Would love to see an REI in Hoover. Also this side of Hoover needs more sit-down restaurants. A Jim-N-Nick's would be great since this is probably the only exit in the Birmingham area without a BBQ joint.

Stadium Trace Village

Nice thought John. We are working on it and other great experiential tenants that would otherwise overlook Hoover. You have a great City and now there is a showcase for that special anchor. BTW the prior 5 posts are completely wrong about the type of operators and the effect that our improvements will have. We are pursuing only best in category operators with their newest prototypes and elevated investment for landscaping and enhanced design. The Medical building will be remarkable and likely be an award winning medical facility that the residents will very much appreciate. The medical use allows for a more level traffic flow and the additional dedicated right turning lanes will avoid traffic lights and be somewhat of a relief during rush hour. Suffice to say "thank you for your patience", hooray for Hoover and we won't let you down.

Tesla

Glad y'all read these comments! One thing Hoover lacks is a Tesla supercharger, although that might make the most sense at the Galleria. There is also no local brewery in Hoover.

Love To See

I would love to see Trader Joe's. It's too inconvenient to drive to the Summit. It would be a welcome addition to Hoover.

Very thoughtful. Thank you

Will Kadish more than 1 year ago

So Ridiculous

It is so ridiculous for Hoover to allow this. Why weren't the citizens given an opportunity to vote on this? Why do we continue to rip down trees to make Hoover one big mass of shopping centers, neighborhoods, and car lots? We need to start evaluating what direction we are putting Hoover in. It's disgusting that we would let this developer from New York come in and destroy beautiful scenery for a shopping center that appears to be just like the one a few miles up. I am so disappointed in Hoover officials for letting this happen. They appear to value money over quality of life.

Sarah more than 1 year ago

More Traffic

Just like Hoover to approve something that cause more traffic without increasing road size to handle it. That intersection is already a mess. The new subdivisions now this. Destroying the community.

Dave more than 1 year ago

Most people are not happy

Mr Kadish if you could see Facebook posts about this project you wouldn't feel much southern hospitality. There are far too many empty shopping centers in Hoover and this area where of town is already a nightmare traffic wise and now it will only get worse!
Thanks, but no thanks.

Sue more than 1 year ago

Hoover residents dont all agree

I live in lake C after talking with others residents you are wrong. We dont want it now it is an eye sore and when finished we will be sitting in more traffic like 280. Another medical center wow Another organic store wow less than 500 meters across the street from one another. Was heaven on Earth until developer's.

I understand the fear of change and the thought that we could make traffic worse. Hoover is a great City and Trace Crossings and the surrounding communities are so special. We will bring back the lanscaping and help to be part of the solution. We have spared no expense with are "all greater Birmingham team", they are remarkable and have taken the time to educate me and over two years engineering solutions that we are now helping bring to fruition. These are the very issues that you raise. The solutions are expensive and we are doing it with care. Thank you for expressing your concerns and please try to be a little patient. Our people are working very hard and even through Labor Day. These are not lazy people who want anyone stuck in traffic. That is unfortunately too common up North. Thats why my children are in school in the South. Hoover is not ANTIFA. Thank you for your anticipated grace. The result will be worth it.

Will more than 1 year ago

Traffic

While traffic seems to be one of the complaints, it is my primary complaint/concern. Mr. Kadish, if you haven't had the opportunity to view or actually be in the morning & afternoon school traffic, I wish you would take the time to do so. As a parent of 3 at HHS it makes me very anxious that we put our young, new drivers in such a congested area twice a day. Adding to that congestion (Emery) is very worrisome to me.

Tenant suggestion

I'd love to see a Pollo Tropicale come into the Birmingham market. They are mostly in Florida, but there are some in Atlanta. Great food!

Becky Roberson more than 1 year ago

Restaurant Suggestion

I would like to politely, and respectfully, request that the developer look into recruiting a Red Robin restaurant. I drive all the way to Trussville to eat at the one there - would love to have a nice sit-down hamburger restaurant like Red Robin on this side of the county.

There is already a beef o Brady's across the street!

In my opinion there is no comparison between B O'Bradys and Red Robin. O'Bradys has been a fantastic civic minded franchise. It the quality of food is below average. Red Robin is several steps up from O'Bradys.

Please make sure it is flat and level. Welcome Trader Joe's is my guess. I have no idea why Hoover needs another medical center, but please let there be a wine bar, and a nice local white table cloth restaurant.

Thank you for being fair with us. I really think that Hoover is a special place and as you quoted it is "Heaven on Earth" to me. Polite people who try to follow the Golden Rule. We won't let them down.

Very excited!

I am so excited about this project and your commitment to making it beautiful. Loved the sign recently erected, "Pardon Our Appearance." Please see comment below about Hollywood Feed! They are looking for new locations in Alabama and this would be a PERFECT fit! They support Hoover High Baseball and have excellent customer service! They are based in Mississippi. They have two locations off Hwy 280....they need representation on the west side of Hoover. They are way superior to Petco in the Grove.

Hoping for a Trader Joe's. I love it, but wish I didn't have to drive to the summit.
Would also like to see an IKEA in Birmingham, although not in this location.

Multi-specialty medical complex

I would like to see a mini version of Kirkland Clinic with most specialties under one roof. Also, a group of internists with hospital admitting privileges at nearby hospitals similar to what is in most professional office buildings adjacent to area hospitals.

Negatively Affect Us

Business like Dairy Queen and Popeyes are in lower income areas. Having these would give us that appearance and negatively affect property values.

Locally owned resaturants

Please consider seeking out more locally owned restaurants like Front Porch, Vecchia, Wasabi Juans that will bring unique character and fresh food to our city.

Businesses

Seems we'd all love a second Trader Joe's in the area. I'd also love to see some new places not already available here like BurgerFi, Torchy's Tacos, and some kind of mid tier Thai/Japanese/or Asian fusion type place that's better than Panda Express but not a full on sit down restaurant. Boba tea being a plus. I'm tied of going to 280 or downtown for boba.
