The SEC Baseball Tournament is back at the Hoover Met for the 2015 tournament.
The 2015 Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament opens play at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium on Tuesday, May 19, and Alabama and Auburn are first-day participants.
For Tide fans, it'll be "Breakfast at The Met:" The Crimson Tide faces Ole Miss at 9:30 a.m. The 11th-seeded Tide and the sixth-seeded Rebels are in a one-and-done situation, as are all the Tuesday teams. Higher-seeded teams got byes for the opening day.
Following that game, the 10th-seed South Carolina and the seventh-seed Missouri face off.
No. 9 Auburn and No. 10 Kentucky square off in the day's third game, set for 4:30 p.m.
No. 12 Tennessee and No. 5 Arkansas close the action.
Day 2 begins double-elimination play. LSU, Vanderbilt, Texas A&M and Florida have first-round byes and move to the double-elimination rounds.
If Alabama wins Tuesday, it will face third-seeded Texas A&M at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. If Auburn wins, it will play top-seeded LSU at 4:30 p.m.
On Thursday, Wednesday losers meet in elimination games while the winners play in the afternoon.
All Friday and Saturday games are loser-go-home scenarios and the championship game will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
All games except the final will be televised on the SEC Network. The championship game will air on ESPN2.
The champion gets the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, while others still have a shot at at-large bids.
Incidentally, Georgia and Mississippi State didn't make the field this year. Only the top 12 teams, regardless of division, make the tournament.
Tickets are $20 per session for reserved seating and $14 per single-game ticket. A session is the first two games of the day or the final two games.
Kids' good-any-session tickets are $8.
