Prince of Peace Church celebrated an ancient Christian custom of blessing the home for the Feast of the Epiphany in January.
Prince of Peace celebrates this custom of blessing homes as part of the Feast of the Epiphany every year. This year’s “kings” were Alvie Allison, Mac Mullen, Boyd Mackey, Ed Covington, Shep Shepherd, Leo Romanick, Nick Cvetetic, Sam Carnley, Lothar Nafz and Joe Garner.
After Mass, small bottles of holy water, pieces of white chalk and a prayer cards were available for parishioners to take home and bless their own homes. This blessing sets a Christian’s home apart as a place of Christian hospitality to all who visit in the coming year.
