On Dec. 18 at 4 a.m. Hoover Patrol officers responded to a suspicious vehicle driving in the area of Willow Oak Drive in the Riverchase subdivision. Officers conducted a traffic stop and discovered numerous stolen items such as tools, purses, cell phones and GPS devices. Those items were traced to car break-ins that occurred just prior to the traffic stop.
The two occupants of the vehicle were arrested and charged with the following:
Hanna Kaytlin Gould, 19, of Columbiana was charged with unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle and illegal possession of a stolen credit card. Her bond is set for $10,000.
Bradley Lane Hatcher, 19, of Columbiana was charged with unlawful breaking and entering a motor vehicle, illegal possession of a stolen credit card and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. His bond is set for $15,000.
Gould and Hatcher were transferred from the Hoover City Jail to the Shelby County Jail last night. More charges are expected. Residents are encouraged to always lock their car doors and never leave valuables in plain sight.
