Superintendent Andy Craig
Superintendent Andy Craig at the July 14 Hoover Board of Education meeting.
After about seven years with Hoover City Schools, Superintendent Andy Craig will resign from his position of chief executive officer.
Hoover City Board of Education president Donna Frazier, said it came as a surprise to her in an email press release Nov. 11. She said that his leadership during those seven years has been exemplary, and that at no time has the school system had better facilities, better programs or better people servicing the students of Hoover.
Craig will be moving to a high-level administrative post at the Alabama Department of Education, and the board will meet soon to address Craig's departure.
