The Hoover City Council this evening is scheduled to hear a presentation from a Florida-based sports facility management company.
Jason Clement of Sports Facilities Management, based in Clearwater, Fla., is scheduled to talk to the council at its 5 p.m. work session at the Hoover Municipal Center. The work session agenda was released about 2:30 p.m.
Clement’s company oversees the day-to-day operation of community recreation areas, sports parks, membership fitness clubs, water parks, adventure parks and other types of indoor and outdoor community-based wellness and sports facilities, according to the company’s website.
The company also provides management advisory services and personnel recruitment. It helps both optimize the performance of existing facilities and works to turn around failing venues, according to its website.
Clients include government entities, private developers, faith-based organizations, financial institutions and other institutions, the website says. Examples of public clients listed are: Rocky Top Sports World in Gatlinburg, Tennessee; Canada Game Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Freedom Springs-Greenwood Aquatics Park in Greenwood, Ind.; and the Hill Country Indoor Sports Complex in Bee Cave, Texas.
