Hunter Street Baptist Church is holding a seminar Sunday night to help parents make sure their children are being safe and responsible online.
The Parent Chat will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the church at 2600 John Hawkins Parkway.
The fast-paced seminar, to be led by Parent Chat founders Matt McKee and Adam Duckworth, will cover how families can properly deal with technology, the internet and social media.
According to information on Hunter Street’s website:
- 38 percent of children under 2 years old use smartphones or tablets, and 70 percent of teens ages 13-17 use smartphones.
- 80 percent of parents have no idea how to monitor their children’s online activities
- 46 percent of teens said they would change their online behavior if they knew their parents were paying attention
Register for the Parent Chat here, or contact children’s minister Andy Wilbanks at 985-7295 for more information.
