Gary Palmer celebrates with his wife and three children after the announcement he won Alabama’s 6th Congressional District race in November.
Five community chambers of commerce are joining forces next week to host Alabama Congressman Gary Palmer for an “Eggs & Issues” Breakfast event at the Birmingham Marriott Hotel on U.S. 280.
Palmer will be at the breakfast from 7:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31. The "Eggs & Issues" event is sponsored by Alabama Power Co. and will be co-hosted by the Greater Shelby Chamber, Hoover Chamber, Mountain Brook Chamber, Vestavia Chamber, and Calera Chamber.
Palmer was elected last November to replace fellow Republican Spencer Bachus, who retired after over two decades representing Alabama House District 6. Before going to Congress, Palmer spent 25 years at the helm of the Alabama Policy Institute, a conservative think tank in Birmingham that he co-founded in 1989.
During the breakfast session, Palmer will provide an update on legislative issues in Washington, according to a release from the Greater Shelby Chamber of Commerce. Time permitting, the chambers will open the floor to questions from attendees.
Tickets are $15 for chamber members and $25 for non-members. The Birmingham Marriott is located at 3590 Grandview Parkway just off U.S. 280. Breakfast reservations are requested by Thursday, March 26. To register, go to ShelbyChamber.org or any of the other participating chamber websites.
