Police Ride-Along
An 18-year-old Helena man was killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Shelby County 13 in Hoover late Friday night, Hoover police said.
Christopher Russell Nelms was driving a 2001 Ford F-250 on Shelby County 13 when the truck left the road near Environs Parkway, overturned and struck a tree, police Capt. Gregg Rector said.
Nelms was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead on the scene by Helena paramedics, Rector said.
Hoover police traffic investigators have been working to reconstruct the wreck to determine what caused it, he said. The Police Department extends its sympathies to the Nelms family, he said.
