Green Valley Veterans Day 2015

Most of Hoover’s public schools are holding Veterans Day events designed to honor U.S. military veterans.
The events, to be held between Nov. 3 and Nov. 10, typically are not open to the public due to space limitations, but students usually are allowed to invite family members who are veterans or current members of the armed forces.
Here is a list of the schools holding Veterans Day events and the dates and times of those ceremonies, in order of their occurrence:
Thursday, Nov. 3:
- Greystone Elementary – 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 4:
- Green Valley Elementary – 8:45 a.m.
- Hoover High - part of pep rally at 2:55 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 8:
- Deer Valley Elementary – 8:30 a.m.
- Bluff Park Elementary – 9 a.m.
Wednesday, Nov. 9:
- Spain Park High – 1 p.m.
- Rocky Ridge Elementary – 1:15 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 10:
- Brock’s Gap Intermediate – breakfast at 7:30 a.m.; program at 8:45 a.m.
- Simmons Middle – 8:30 a.m.
- Trace Crossings Elementary – 8:30 a.m.
- Berry Middle – 9 a.m.
- Gwin Elementary – 9 a.m.
- Riverchase Elementary – 1 p.m.
- Shades Mountain Elementary – 1:15 and 6 p.m.
- Bumpus Middle – reception at 1:30 p.m.; program at 2 p.m.
All Hoover public schools will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11, in observance of the actual Veterans Day holiday.
