Families and friends will have the opportunity to join others in the fight against childhood cancer at Sebastian’s RunWalk for a Cure on Saturday, Sept. 10, at Veterans Park in Hoover.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and the 5k RunWalk begins at 8:30 a.m. The one mile Kids’ Fun Run/Family Run/Walk begins at 10 a.m. Participants can choose to walk individually or create a team to honor a patient, participate as a company or school, or walk with friends. Participants will be able to enjoy food and kids’ activities and honor Sebastian and all other children who are facing childhood cancer. This event will benefit the Alabama Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Children’s of Alabama and bring together supporters of all ages.
Sebastian’s RunWalk was created to honor the memory of Sebastian Lemos. Sebastian lived every day to the fullest and his family and friends wanted to continue his legacy with this event. It is the hope of the committee that this RunWalk will help other children facing childhood cancer live their lives to the fullest. In honor of Sebastian, all participants are encouraged to wear camo because Sebastian loved camouflage.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and younger. Sponsorship opportunities and online registration can be found at www.sebastiansrunwalk.org. More information is available by contacting Kelley Olis at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 205-638-9008.
