Austin Weber of Hoover is continuing to develop his hockey career. Weber recently signed a contract to play with the New England Wolves of the Eastern Hockey League.

After successful seasons in Pelham, Austin played two seasons in Huntsville before moving into Junior Hockey. He was one of two 16-year-olds selected to play in the tough Minnesota Division of the NA3HL when he signed with Breezy Point, Minnesota.

After his season with Breezy Point, his contract was obtained by the Point Mallard Ducks. Helped by Weber's 15 goals and 11 assists, the Ducks won the Southern Division when Austin scored the winning goal against Nashville to clinch the title. The highlight of his season came when Weber scored four times against the Indiana team.

A recent tryout with the Wichita Falls Wildcats of the North American Hockey League opened the next door. The Wichita coach called and told Austin he would be brought up if the team has any injuries. He reports to camp with the New England Wolves on August 27.
