Spain Park basketball teams play today in Regional Finals

Spain Park (boys) v. Central-Phenix City, 1:30 p.m.

Spain Park (girls) v. Opelika, noon.

The Spain Park boys and girls basketball teams will take the court today in the Regional Finals in the AHSAA tournament.

The Lady Jaguars (25-7) will face Opelika (21-5) at noon in the Central Regional at Dunn-Oliver Acadome, Alabama State University in Montgomery. If the Lady Jags win, they could face rival Oak Mountain High in the Regional Finals, slated for 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb 21.

The Spain Park boys team (20-10) will play Central-Phenix City (25-1) at 1:30 p.m. today, also at Alabama State University. If they come out on top, they’ll face Wetumpka (20-5) or Carver-Montgomery (22-4) on Friday at 10:40 a.m.

Hoover High Lady Buccaneers (17-14) also made it to the Regional Finals but were defeated 57-40 by Sparkman (31-2) on Tuesday. The game was played at Wallace-Hanceville Community College.
