Soccer postseason honors announced

Following the spring season, local high school coaches voted on and announced postseason honor teams, with a number hailing from Spain Park and Hoover.

Parker Sturm of Spain Park was named to the boys All-State first team. The senior defender will play collegiately at Birmingham-Southern. Hoover’s Kyle Tedford was named to the second team, as he scored five game-winning goals on the season for the Bucs.

Hannah Amidon of Hoover was named to the Class 7A All-State first team on the girls side. She was joined on the second team by teammates Briana Morris and Sydney DeJohn.

Those players along with many others were also named to the All-Metro team. The complete lists of each can be found below.
