Pair of Bucs announce college commitments

Two of Hoover High School's top defensive players have announced they will accept offers to play at Football Bowl Subdivision schools in college.

Kholbe Coleman-Abrams and KJ Vault, a pair of returning starting linebackers for the Bucs, committed on Sunday to Bowling Green and Tulane, respectively.

Coleman-Abrams said, "I chose (Bowling Green) because they win championships and that's what I want to be a part of. I give thanks to God, my family and coaches because they taught me so much to even be in this position."

Senior running back C.J. Sturdivant has also committed to Tulane, and nickel linebacker Vault will join him. Vault said he "felt at home" during his unofficial visit. 

"The combination of academics, athletic opportunities and coaching staff that Tulane provides solidified my decision in committing," Vault said. "I give thanks to God, my family and friends and my coaches. Together, they have made me the student-athlete that I am today."

The linebackers each mentioned the team's goal this year, to be "1-0" each week. The Bucs open the season August 19 in Montgomery against Central-Phenix City at the Cramton Bowl.
