Hoover saw its season come to an end in a 47-39 loss to Hazel Green in the Class 7A Northwest Regional Final, at Wallace State Community College on Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Bucs struggled offensively, shooting just 12% (3-25) in the first half, as they trailed 23-12 at halftime. They rebounded to shoot 41% in the final two periods and scored 18 points in the fourth quarter, but it was too little, too late.

Hoover (23-7) was led by Eboni Williams' 11 points, seven rebounds, and four blocks in the game. Senior and VCU signee Jailyn Maddox scored ten points in her final game with the Lady Bucs. Fellow senior Kendra Langham scored seven points and pulled in six boards.

Hazel Green (32-3) placed three players in double figures, led by Brooke Hampel's double-double, with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Caitlin Hose and Imari Martin each scored ten points.

Hoover scored the first four points of the contest, but Hazel Green's ten consecutive points into the second quarter opened up a big enough lead to hold onto the rest of the way.

The season comes to a close with the loss for Hoover.
