Hoover winning streak reaches 25, playoffs this weekend

by

The Hoover Bucs finished an undefeated regular season with their 25th straight win, a 29-7 victory over Opelika High.

Hoover star running back Bradrick Shaw scored three touchdowns to lead the Hoover offense.  Shaw totaled 131 yards rushing on 28 carries, as the Hoover ground game proved decisive.  Bucs quarterback Jack Hutcheson led off the scoring with a 24-yard touchdown toss to Alex Elam.

If Hoover wins its first two playoff games, the Bucs will match the longest winning streak in school history.  Currently, Head Coach Josh Niblett's team is ranked number three in America by USA Today, and remains the top ranked Class 6A team in Alabama.

The Bucs begin their playoff run with a clash against Huntsville High School on Friday, November 8.
