Hoover Met press box named in honor of Allen Pate

Allen Pate's name is now literally attached to the press box at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium.

In a ceremony prior to the Hoover vs. Spain Park High School football game, Pate was honored on the field along with his family, to declare that the press box at the Met would be referred to as the Allen Pate Press Box from this date forward. The inscription with that title was attached to the wall just beneath the baseball press box windows.

Pate was joined on the field by his wife, Edna, who have been residents of the city for over 40 years, and have two sons, Russell and Bryan, that each graduated from Berry High School.

Pate is currently the Executive Director of the City of Hoover, and has served the city for 29 years. He is responsible for multiple areas of the city, such as annexations, community development and redevelopment, and events, facilities and risk management.
