Hoover Heat named central area champions

Hoover Softball Association (HSA] recently announced Hoover “Heat” 8U All-Stars as the Central Area Champions. The 8 year old and under team “Hoover Heat” has a winning record of 20-1. In the Central Area Tournament, the girls made a clean sweep for the win, playing in three games, winning over the 8u  Hoover “Shockers” for the Championship 10-5. This was the first time that two HSA teams played for the Area Championship title.

“We are very proud of the Hoover Heat and the Hoover Shockers; the girls have worked hard this summer, and it was great to see two teams represent Hoover at this level”, said Heat Head Coach Chad Christian.

Hoover Softball Association has four teams from the Park competing in the USSSA State Tournament.  Among the teams is the Hoover 6u , “Diamond Dozen”. The team qualified for State after battling Alabaster in a two game Championship series; winning the first game 15-13 and battling in the second game 15-12, Alabaster.  The Diamond Dozen took home second place at the Central Area Tournament. Also, among the four Hoover teams with an invitation to the State Tournament is the 10u team, “Hoover Havoc” who placed second in the Central Area Tournament.  The team started the tournament with a big win 15-3 over Vestavia Hills Red and finished the tournament in the Championship game 14-8, Homewood.  You can see the tournament brackets at fastpitchal.com.
