Hoover crushes Tuscaloosa County on national television

The Hoover Bucs completely dominated Tuscaloosa County before a national ESPN audience, winning the Region championship and the game by a score of 41-0.

The Bucs defense held the Wildcats to an incredible 59 yards of offense for the entire night.  Hoover's offense, led by quartack Jack Hutcheson and the stable of four tailbacks, cruised to a 34-0 halftime lead.

Hoover's stars were out before the ESPN cameras, as the Bucs's big hames made big plays in front of the big audience.  Hutcheson passed for three touchdowns and 220 yards on just 17 pass attempts.  Star receiver Justin Johnson hauled in eight catches for 159 yards.  Tailback Bradrick Shaw scored an early touchdown, but on this night, many different Hoover players carried the ball.

Hoover's biggest star, All-American Marlon Humphrey, was spotlighted throughout the game by the ESPN cameras.  Former NFL cornerback Jason Sehorn even gave an evaluation of Humphrey's strength and potential college destinations during the game.

The Tuscaloosa County strategy of keeping the ball away from Humphrey backfired when an errant punt, off the side of the kicker's foot, sailed straight to the All-American.

The Wildcats paid dearly.

Humphrey fielded the punt, weaving through defenders and using his track-star sprinter's speed to score a 76-yard touchdown in the first quarter to give his Bucs a 24-0 lead.

On defense, the dominant Bucs defense only allowed 15 yards on the ground by an outstanding Tuscaloosa County team.

The Bucs wind up the regular season by hitting the road for a clash against Opelika High School.
