Bucs to play Wildcats, Jags to play Spartans Tuesday

Hoover High will host Tuscaloosa County on Tuesday, Jan. 20, in boys and girls basketball in Class 7A, Area 5 play. 

The Bucs (17-6, 4-0), ranked No. 8 in the most recent poll, are coming off a 59-42 win over Oak Mountain. The Bucs and Wildcats tip at 7:30.

The sixth-ranked Lady Bucs (16-6, 3-1) snapped a two-game losing streak with a 44-35 win over Oak Mountain. The Lady Bucs tip at 6:30.

Fifth-ranked Spain Park will host Class 7A No. 1 Mountain Brook in a boys basketball game Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 7:30 p.m. Spain Park (20-3, 3-1 Area 6) suffered a 20-point loss to Mountain Brook in their last meeting, but the Jaguars were without Austin Wiley, who is back and healthy. Mountain Brook (19-4, 4-0) moved back into the top spot after dropping toNo. 2 for a week. The Lady Jags will host the Lady Spartans at 6 p.m. in a key Area 6 matchup.
