Hoover, Spain Park boys begin basketball area tournament play

The Class 7A second-ranked Spain Park Jaguars and the fifth-ranked Hoover Buccaneers open are basketball play Thursday, Feb. 5.

Hoover hosts Oak Mountain at 7 p.m. That game is preceded by Thompson-Tuscaloosa County at 5:30. The winners meet Saturday at 7 p.m. at Hoover. The girls area final precedes that game at 5 p.m.

Spain Park faces Vestavia Hills at 6 p.m. Thursday in the area tournament at Mountain Brook. The Spartans face Hewitt-Trussville at 7:30. The winners meet Saturday night at 7.
