Girls basketball teams begin area play

With the regular season over, local girls basketball teams now head into area play beginning Wednesday, Feb. 4.

Hoover hosts Oak Mountain on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The winner of that game will meet the winner of Thompson-Tuscaloosa County, who play at 5:30 Wednesday. The area championship game is Saturday at 5 p.m.

Spain Park hosts Hewitt-Trussville at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The winner will meet the victor of the Vestavia Hills-Mountain Brook game (6:30 p.m. Wednesday). The area championship game is Friday at 7 p.m.
