Former Lady Buc playing in local conference tournament

The Gulf South Conference is taking place at the Pete Hanna Center on the campus of Samford University this week, and there is a local player making waves in the conference.

Jada Smith, former standout at Hoover High, is a freshman at Union University, one of the teams to reach the semifinal round of the tournament. For the season, she has averaged 11.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game.

Union, the top seed in the tournament, will take on Lee University on Friday, March 4, at 12 p.m. The winner of that game will compete in the conference championship game on Saturday, March 5, at 1 p.m.
