Walker Lott, a former starting quarterback at Briarwood Christian, has committed to Yale University.

He was recruited by the Ivy League school as a quarterback and a safety, and will study engineering.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound athlete spent his senior season at Thompson High School after starting his sophomore and junior seasons at Briarwood. In his junior year, Lott was the first Briarwood quarterback to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season. He gained over 6,000 yards total in his high school career.

Trey Lott, Walker's father, vacated his position as a Hoover Councilman due to the family's move from Hoover to Alabaster a year ago after serving in that position for ten years.
