Bucs-Jags football game moved for TV

The Hoover vs. Spain Park football game, the first meeting between the two schools since 2011, has been moved to Thursday, Oct. 2, to accommodate television, Hoover City Schools announced July 30.

The game was originally set for the following Friday. Kickoff will still be at 7 p.m. at Spain Park's Jaguar Stadium.

Montgomery-based Raycom Sports, which has affiliates throughout the Southeast, will televise the game. Raycom will air a Thursday night game each week this fall. No Birmingham affiliate has been announced yet.

Hoover and Spain Park have been in different regions the past two seasons and have not played, but they will be reunited in Class 7A, Region 3 this season.
