Berry places 2 on All-Metro team

A pair from Berry Middle School, the Spain Park High feeder school, was named to the All-Metro South softball team.

Annabelle Widra, a 7th-grader, led the team in pitching this season. She went 15-1 on the season with 148 strikeouts to just 17 walks in 85 innings of work. She went 4-0 in the Metro South Tournament with 30 strikeouts with four walks in 21 innings pitched.

Lindsay Parker, an 8th-grader, led the team in hitting this season. She finished the season with a .541 batting average with 46 hits and 43 RBIs in 28 games played. She batted .727, (8-for-11), and had one double and four runs batted in for the Metro South Tournament. 

Chris Carey was named Metro South Middle Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year. Berry Middle School finished the season with a 23-5 record.
