Students from at least 10 Hoover schools will be holding See You at the Pole prayer times Wednesday morning.

The gatherings are part of the global annual event designed to encourage students to gather at their school’s flag poles to pray for their schools, families, communities, states and nation.

Here are the times for the Hoover events, according to First Priority, a Christian organization that helps promote the rallies in the greater Birmingham area:

Students from about 250 schools across the greater Birmingham area are expected to participate in See You at the Pole prayers at their schools Wednesday morning, according to First Priority. The events are led by students, not the schools, but often are promoted by First Priority clubs in the schools.

See You at the Pole is a global event held on the fourth Wednesday of every September. It started at a Texas school in 1990 and has spread across the globe. More than 2 million students typically gather each year for the event.
