The Hoover City Schools Board of Education approved two new principals the upcoming school year during its July 7 meeting.

The school board approved Quincy Collins as new principal of Trace Crossings Elementary School and Stacey Stocks as new principal of Greystone Elementary School. Collins previously served as assistant principal at Bumpus Middle School. Stocks served as interim assistant principal at Greystone Elementary during the  2013-14 school year and was hired as assistant principal in May 2014.

Superintendent Dr. Kathy Murphy also asked Rocky Ridge Elementary Principal Dr. Dilhani Uswatte to introduce Alicia Peters, who was approved as the school's new assistant principal.

"We're lucky to have her as our new assistant principal, and she's going to do great things for our school system," Uswatte said.

Murphy congratulated the new hires and said she looked forward to supporting them in the upcoming school year.

Murphy also presented the school board with a district administrative organizational chart which she, the board and school principals have collaborated to put together.

"It certainly is very beneficial to us and the school district to know to whom duties and responsibilities have been assigned, and who we'll collaborate with on certain projects," Murphy said.

The next school board meeting will be July 18 at 5:30 p.m.
