Brock’s Gap student competes in national geography bee

Brock’s Gap Intermediate sixth-grader Kapil Nathan recently won the State of Alabama National Geographic Geography Bee. This is Kapil’s second year in a row of winning the state competition, and he is now in training for the National Competition to be held later this spring in Washington, D.C. Kapil is also a big chess competitor.  He won the Alabama State Chess Competition in 2013 and in 2014 for his divisions.  

Kapil was recognized by the Hoover Board of Education on April 18. The national competition will be May 22-25.
