Hoover school officials have set up five community meetings to present the school system’s proposal for redrawing Hoover school zone lines to the public.

The first is set for Feb. 4 at Metropolitan Church of God at 2800 Metropolitan Way from 6 to 8 p.m., according to a news release on the school system’s website. This meeting is designed for the entire school system, but the same information will be presented at four smaller, community-specific meetings, school officials said.

Here are the dates, times and locations for the latter four meetings:

If designated dates and times conflict with families’ schedules, people are welcome to attend any meeting that bests fits their schedule, school officials said.

Meeting dates are subject to change, pending the outcome of school system talks with the U.S. Department of Justice and NAACP Legal Defense Fund that are scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 28.

Hoover schools Superintendent Kathy Murphy previously has said every Hoover school could potentially be impacted by the rezoning proposal.
