An artful achievement

Grayson Vaughn, a rising freshmen at Hoover High School, won a Gold Key award for her sculpture of a guitar.

 The Scholastic Art and Writing Award enables her work to be considered for national-level recognition.

The sculpture was one of 29 art pieces by Birmingham area students to be displayed at the Birmingham Museum of Art during Youth Art Month earlier this year.
