Students participate in festival’s Planet Project

Deer Valley Elementary Enrichment teachers Sami Funkhauser and Thom Leinheiser helped students participate in this year's Planet Project at the Moss Rock Festival. Third graders collected recycled materials which they then turned into life-sized sea turtles. 

The theme this year was endangered animals, and the project challenges students to create their art exclusively out of recycled materials. The project served as an extension to third grade's on-going project based learning study of the life cycle of sea turtles.
